Ruth Milligan’s career could be characterized as a communication quilt, with many layers, patterns and expressions of experience and accomplishment.
She is one of the original curators for any TEDx event (the license program for TED), having selected and chosen over 200 speakers who have taken the TEDxColumbus stage since 2009. She has authored a class on how to be a TEDx speaker coach, the only one of its kind, designed to support speaker coaches around the world assure their speakers reach their highest potential. She is often tapped as an expert in the TED-style of speaking for corporate leaders
For 7 years she has ran Milligan Communications as a traditional PR and Marketing practice and in 2009, narrowed that practice to only coaching and training inside executive communication, structured thought, storytelling and public speaking, operating as articulation inc.
In her early career she built an impressive portfolio of experience for then-Ohio Governor George V. Voinovich.
